Default cover coat

I was trying to think of some way to cover coat a large volume of inkjet prints. The can spray just will not work for a large volume. I was thinking of perhaps using a roller or silk screen to put on some sort of protective over coat.

Has anyone else been down this road? Any information on the subject?
