my canon i9900 is tripping out. all the b&w prints are coming out pink.
magenta seems to be the culprit, even after i removed the magenta cartrage! any suggestions or solutions?

First of all, the i9900 isn't the best printer for BW.

My suggestions are:

1) Print greyscale. This uses mostly only the black cart, I think.

2) Play with different papers.
I have found fair results with:
Ilford Classic Pearl
Epson Heavyweight
Canon Photopaper Pro and Matte

However, none of them are perfect, and to date, I don't know if the colors will drift over time or how long they will last.

If you want, I will be happy to send you my profiles for these papers for you to use as a starting point, but I will not be able to do so until near the end of January.
