Updated report. I set up the new ip5200. Same exact problem. Banding on the glossy paper while using the bottom feeder. After searching the internet, this sounds like a very common problem across all of the newer Canon printers that have the two feed system.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I'm going to keep the printer since I think the print quality is excellent. With my Sony H1 and the Canon printer, I can print out fantastic red tones, which I desire. So, far I've only been challenged by a few faces but I'm working on developing some profiles. I'll be feeding the glossy paper through the top autofeeder and keep plain paper in the bottom (the opposite of what Canon suggests).
