I have a pixma ip3000 and tried to print a label on a tdk print-on dvd-r but when i printed the disk got stuck half way thru and pooped out. Do i need a special feeder for this printer it has a marking on the paper feeder for an A5 disk. I used Acoustica CD label maker for the software.. Any suggestion?

You definitely need a special tray to print onto a printable DVD/CD. The tray feeds from the front after you open the upper door. Have no idea what that marking is on the paper feed area - both my ip4000 and ip6000D show it - maybe some type of paper label. But there is a bend in the feed path so there is no way you can feed the DVD from the paper holder area. There are several threads here on the Steve's Forum on printing on DVD/CDs that you can search for. One is quite lengthy. If you are in the US, there are also some firmware changes that need to be made to the printer before it will print onto DVD/CDs - again directions in the threads. You will need to buy a tray off E-Bay (Canon doesn't sell them in the US anymore - used to but by mistake) or make one - plans in the referenced threads. Non-US Pixma printers are set up to print on the media without mods - not US versions. Hope this helps.
