What would you say are the "top 3" photo printers today and why? I'm considering only 8-ink printers or better. Would be nice if they were able to do "archive quality" prints on "fine art paper" too. Has tobe able to give me"the best print quality" (e.g. accurate colors, good detail...etc.). And reliable.

I know Canon will soon have 2 prosumer models. The 9000 (dye based..8-ink) which is to come in October. And the 9500 (pigment based...10-ink) in 2007. Both are able to do archive quality prints. Two models I'm interested in.

I'm also considering HP.

How is Epson these days as far as photo printers go? I have an old Epson C60 inkjet. Not a "photo printer". Which, when either of the 2 cartridges are low the color output is completely out of whack. It's like the printer has a mind of it's own. Printing colors no where near what should be on the page. Is it just my printer? Just the C60 printers? Or, is this common with most Epson printers these days?
