Camera: Canon Rebel XT 8MP
Printer: Canon PIXMA IP6600D
App: Photoshop CS2

When I print directly from the memory card via the printer to glossy paper the pictures are absolutely gorgeous! In fact they look better than the pictures from our wedding from a "professional" photographer. However, when I print the same photo from photoshop w/out any modifications (just "fit to page") it doesn't look nearly as good (granulated). Can someone please give me some advice on how to print from Photoshop and get them to look as good as they do when printed directly from the printer? Please? Pretty please?

What resolution is the Fit to Page feature giving you? If you print at between 240-300ppi (pixels per square inch), you should not see any grainyness. Most inkjet printers can do their best work on a 240ppi file. But, there are some people who claim that they can see a difference at up to 300ppi. Try 'em both and see. Somewhere in this area, you just start wasting ink rather than making a better picture.

My guess is that the printer is printing at high quality by default when you print directly from it. When you print from the computer, the quality is determined by software. You'll definitely know it's true if the prints from the computer are faster.

Check your print settings when you send a file to print and make sure you printer is set up for high quality photos.
