A newbie here....I'm looking to buy a film scanner...preferably Epson, and I'm considering the Epson Perfection 4990 Pro and Photo. When I run out the specs on both, they show as identical. The Pro is about $600 and the Photo is 449.

Does anyone know the difference between the two? Does anyone own either model and could review it for me?

Thanks.....Mary :?

The difference between the Photo and the Pro version is the software. The Pro version comes wit Profiling software which is very expensive to purchase by it self but if you can get along with out the software buy the Photo package.

Do a Google search for Epson 4990 and it will give you links to reviews on the 4990>
