USB control for micro 4:3 cameras
Are any of the micro 4:3 cameras--Lumix GF2, Sony NEX-5, Samsung NX100, etc equipped to be controlled through a USB interface? I need extended time-lapse capability for a camera of this size.

I don't know the answer to your question.

But, the Samsung NX100 and Sony NEX-5 are not Micro 4/3 camera models.

The Samsung uses a lens mount that's proprietary to Samsung's NX system cameras like the NX10 and NX100.

The Sony uses a new E Mount lens system that is proprietary to it's NEX series camera like the NEX-3 and NEX-5.

Although the models you're mentioning are all mirrorless interchangeable lens type cameras, the only one you've mentioned that is a Micro 4/3 system camera is the Panasonic.

Thanks for the clarification. What's the short name for this class of cameras--

MIL (mirrorless interchangable lens)?

Good question, and I don't have the answer. :-)

There is a lot of debate about what these newer types of cameras should be called.

At one point, the term EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder, Interchangeable Lens) was being tossed around. But, some of them don't have Viewfinders (LCD only), and the term EVIL could be offensive to some.

So, we're starting to see many users refer to them as Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras now. Sometimes you see them referred to as ILC (for Interchangeable Lens Compact), too. But the acronym that will end up being used more often is still up in the air (and some sites are even conducting surveys to figure out what users want to call them). :-)
