I purchased a 10" 16:9 (800X480)digital picture frame and found out that all my pictures taken by my Cannon camera leave two black bars on either side of the screen. Thanks for the help of this forum. I found out that this is because all my pictures were taken with aspect ratio not 16:9 (probably 4:3). I need to crop my picture to 16:9 in order that the pictures can use the whole screen without distortion. I also took thesuggestion of using the freeware Framesize which works very well. However , after the cropping (with800X480 size specified) using Framesize. I still seeblack bars of about 1/4 inch on both sides. Am I asking for too much? What should I specify if I want the whole screen occupied?

Some 800x480 photo frames have an option to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. I'd make sure your frame is set to the correct aspect ratio if it has a way to switch it.
