Default Ricoh Caplio RX, any user comments about photo quality etc.?

Hello!

Been looking for a small(ish) wideangle digicam for about a six months. Now I set my eyes on Caplio RX 28mm to something. Haven't seen any test photos or reviews though, so what do you think?

Thank you!

Thanks Ozematt!

I've done some serious searching but couldn't find anything like review or such... Will try more!

If the Rx is anything like my former CaplioG3, the quality is nice. The only problem I had with it was too much in camera sharpening

Hey ironchef,

I've written a detailed review on the Caplio RX:

Let me know what you think!

Apart from the flash recharge time issue, the camera certainly performs less well (than similar cameras) in lower light situations.

Ignoring the high noise, I used it at a formal dinner on Friday night and the images needed more work than I would have expected to get anything decent out of them.

There were noticable horizontal lines insome images after I had "boosted" the levels.

Having said that, it had no focussing problems and the fast shutter response was a godsend.
