Default Samsung NX11

Soon available: Samsung NX11 with 18-55/3.5-5.6 WITH i-Function

Hmmm, my NX10 works since Update 1.20 (now 1.25) also with i-Function.

i-Function is displayed in VIEWER and on DISPLAY of NX10

Smile New Samsung NX11

This week I got my new Samsung NX11, together with a Walimex 8mm full frame fisheye lens and a tripod.
I guess the Walimex fisheye is basically a rebranded Samyang lens?

My main motivation for buying this camera was to create HDR images and stereographic projections with Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/) - hence the acquisition of the fisheye.
I'm using UFRraw (http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/) to convert the RAW images (since Samsung uses it's own format) - which is basically a GIMP GUI for dcraw (http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/)

The NX11 with the kit lens 18-55mm iFn mounted, fisheye beside:

So here are my first shoots I took with the NX11 and the 18-55mm iFn lens:

edit: I gave some of the pictures an HDR overhaul. I used exposure bracketing +/-1.8 stops and fused it with Hugin and GIMP.

Since the fisheye lens is all manual I still need some time to get used to it - but hopefully I can post some pictures later...

What I'm wondering is, are there any major differences between the NX10 and the NX11 (besides the slightly modified right hand grip)?

Cool My Room is a Sphere

But the NX10 does support iFn lenses after the firmware update? So I think it's not so much of a difference

Anyway, here is my first stereographic projection with my new fisheye lens.
Stitched and HDR fused with Hugin 2011.0.0 x64 and slightly retouched and resized with GIMP 2.6.
I tried to position the camera on the tripod as close to the no-parallax-point as possible - worked out quite well.
3x6 shots horizontal in portrait orientation (60 degrees apart), 3x2 shots up (90 degrees apart), 3x2 shots down (90 degrees apart).

Samsung NX11 + Walimex 8mm F3.5, Exposure Bracketing -2,0,+2

What's weird is, that the NX5 is almost the same price (kit) as the NX11 here in Austria - although the specs of the NX5 are inferior -
and the NX11 is cheaper than the NX10 - although it's the successor...

Yes, NX10 also supports iFn ... I bought NX10 when price was ~ 15 higher than NX5 price. NX5 isn't worth this price - how you said ... inferior.

NX5
Viewer 201.000 Pixel
Display 230.000 Pixel, no AMOLED

NX10
Viewer 921.000 Pixel
Display 630.000 Pixel, AMOLED

Nice picture with Walimex 8mm

Some pictures with NX10 + my 30 fisheye lens

Here are some additional shots I took with my NX11+Walimex Fisheye and stitched together with Hugin:

I like the curve of the small path - so the sphere reminds me of a Yin Yang symbol:

No HDR this time, just one exposure level.

I'll have to say, I'm quite satisfied with the Walimex 8mm Fisheye lens
