I've had one for a month and took it to England on a walking tour. The previous point and shoot that I used was the Pentax Optio 555 which was an amazingly versatile, full featured camera in its own right. The L85 takes it a step beyond in terms of picture quality. There is a wideview feature to the camera which is great for landscape photography and would look outstanding displayed on a 16:9 HDTV screen. I thought I'd miss an eyepiece but the LCD is large enough and you can use it in bright light by depressing the shutter halfway. I am still learning on the camera and I used it in conjunction with an Oly 8080w on this last trip

PMCOSKER, how do you think it would handle action shots, is the auto focus fast enough ?

does it have an 'action' mode, when I read the spec, it mention a 'children' mode, is that the same thing?

thanks

[align=left]I really don't know about action shots as I primarily take landscape pics. There are a couple of instances of movement in shots that I have taken, but not enough to generalize. There is a children mode in the scene menu but I've never used it.
