Hello there,

I've been using my hd1a as a webcam on msn and it worked great. However, on skype, i just get a black screen when having the hd1a plugged as a pc camera. However, if i open my msn and do the webcam function, it works fine.

Anybody has any suggestions?

Thanks a lot,

Since theXactis implement a standard USB camera interface without the need for any drivers (natively supportedby XP SP2), likely the issue is with Skype. I found a number of posts similar to yours in the Skype Video forums, people stating that their webcams (different ones) work with other software (like MSN and Yahoo) but not with Skype. The fact that Skype Video is stillconsidered beta software is another clue. I suggest you search/post in the Skype forums for help, considering your HD1Ais a generic webcam driven by XP SP2.

You can try using SplitCam, a free utility available at:

It doesn't pick up the audio from the microphone, so you will have to use a separate mic input, but you can get a picture in Skype.
