Default Editing Sanyo HD2000 MPEG4 AVC/H264 files

Just got my Sanyo HD2000 a week ago and I've been trying to find some solution to the all too farmiliar editing problem among Sanyo owners.
I can import the files to Premiere pro cs4 or Vegas with out problems but
the preview is just too laggy to do any real editing.

Basically what I'm looking for is a way conver the files to something thats less compressed (less CPU usage) with little or no quality loss, so I can edit them without the huge amount of lag.

I've tried almost all the available formats in Adobe media encoder, but most of them lose quite abit of quality. The usual limitations in the codecs is that they dont support 1920x1080p 60. If I want to do a slow mo, I'll have to convert it to something like MPEG2 30p, which kinda defeats the purpose of the cameras high fps. I've also tried software like handbrake, MP4Cam2AVI, Avidemux, Any video converter and a few others but didnt get the result I wanted.

I dont mind if the transcoding takes alot of time and space (within sane limits), I got a 2TB HD and I'll do the conversion over night.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
