Hello,
I am new to video and the editing, but have some experience with digital still photography. I have been using the 1010 with the Info Display set to show date and time. When I edit the files, using Avidemux, the timestamp does not appear. Can anyone tell me how to have the timestamp appear on the final files? Sheers Steve the Dropbear |

That just sets what information is displayed in playback mode and doesn't actually imprint the time and date into the video.
As far as I am aware there is no option to do this on the HD1010 and even if there was I don't think it's a good idea to do so unless absolutely necessary as it's permanent. If you ever wanted a clean video for some purpose, you would have to replace the missing information where the date was, if you wanted to remove it. I would never use it now since I found mine record the encoding date in the video file itself. This can be read using a program such as mediainfo. |

are you on linux? I suggest you use cinelerra and if you have problems, just post, i can help since i use it for full feature video production. I can render in view video live since its 3d accelerated and render video 2hours in 3 hours time. I don't know about the timecode plugin since I haven not looked for one. You got me curious.

okay i got one for you.
If you are running linux, it is very very simple. once you get the command paramater saved on your winff setting (it only takes 5 minutes to figure it out), then you can create your videos with timestamps like nothing. I just did it and it is a nice option. Ill look at my cinelerra later on and see if i can find something similar. http://www.phpro.org/tutorials/Video...-FFMPEG.html#7 |

virtualdub does it too! i just found a plugin called
Add_Frame_Numbers_0.6.1.zip if you have problems, let me know and ill show you how to do it. as soon as you get the workflow, its super easy. setting things up will just cost you some time like an hour or so depending on your expirience. if you can't figure out how to use the software, just ask and ill post something small |

ohh and here is the screenshot after the video rendering is done. It is completely customizable. i just used the default and added blackbar. but you can do anything with it.

I have also been using virtualdub, I had not seen that plugin.
rgvcam, I need the timestamp. It is for court. The 1010 goes a lot of places. Thanks, this group offers good advice. Steve the Dropbear |
