My eyes lit up when I saw the spec of the new HD1010 and I was almost gonna press the BUY button instantly until I realised that it only took 4MP stills!

The video side of the camera seems very impressive now with some amazing spces and some quality results Ive seen over the net.

Why did they only put a 4MP sensor int he camera though? Is there a bizzare reason that anyone knows of?

It's a hybrid camera and it still takes higher resolution photos than most others out there. The Canon HF100 does3.1MP max. I find the 4MP photos from my HD1000 look great. I don't need to blow them up to poster size so I don't need them to be any larger. 4MP prints very nicely to standard photo size.
