Unauthorized dealer warranties

The so called unauthorized dealers such as Broadway Photo, Warehouse 123, various eBay sellers etc. claim to offer a warranty of 1 year parts and labor on Sanyo HD1, 1a etc. If this is legit, it's an even better warranty than the Sanyo USA warranty.

Then of course if you buy with the right credit card, that initial warranty can be extended for another year. My thinking is that after two years the camcorder may well be obsolete.........

I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has any actual experience with these unauthorized dealers when it comes to warranty service.
