I have downloaded the 14MB video - baby crawling. It does not play in MP of course.

But it plays rather jerkily in both VLC and quicktime. Is there any issue?

Is it a problem with HD1A video format?

The problem is likely in the video processing side of your computer (RAM or video processor likely). 1280x720 at 30 frames per second is a ton of data.

My first iMac had trouble with 640x480 / 30 fps from my mini DV camcorder as far as it would play video and seem to miss frames. When played back over firewire back to the camera, it was fine, just not on the monitor. My newest iMac(2 generations old today) and my Windows XP laptop have no problem with 640x480 / 30 fps of any file format, but they do exibit what you describe as 'playing jerkily' with the larger 1280x720 / 30 fps. The same file on a similar CPU that has increased video processing can play it smooth.

It plays OK for me using QuickTime player. I am running a Pentium 4 with 2GB of memory though. I agree with Sanyo, you are probably not using a fast enough computer and or video card. That is a very large resolution video and it requires a lot of computer power to view it properly.

You are quite right.

I downloaded it again on a new Dual Core 915 with 1GB ram and a GF7300 video card.

It plays OK in VLC and even in Media Player! I have installed so many codecs I do not know which made it play in Media Player!

Mind you the first PC I played on was not exactly slow - P4 2.8G with 1GB ram.

With that spec, I would say that it would most likely be the video card or capabilities of that system (rather than the main CPU).
