In case there are other new owners of a CG6, here are some links to useful accesories...
I wanted something a little more substantial than the cloth bag and the CG6 fits in this Tamrac case (model 5686) pretty well:

A spare battery is pretty essential and I've bought other things here before buying this 950mAh 3rd party DB-L20 clone:

Lpm you just made mysearch a loteasier, thanks really.I just ordered some of the accessories (extra bat, case).I was actually looking 4GB Connect3Da few days ago but wasn't too sure if would work with CG6. It's good that you confirmedit works. Too bad it's out of stock right now.

Thanks lpm. I find"knock-off" batteries' mAh claims suspicious... make sure to let us know if it actually (works!) lasts longer than the OEM battery.

Glad to be of help with my accesorizing tips... Maybe I'll just leave the CG6 recording and see which battery lasts the longest. With a 4Gb card, the memory should outlast the battery, right?

Put the camera in web mode and it will definitely outlast the battery. Of course one thing the test will not show is how well the SANYO OEM battery will perform overtime versus the generic. That is one of the benefits. But from a simple time trial, the results will be interesting.

I'm about to purchase the CG65, an extra battery and an SDHC card. My first thought is to purchase two 2 GB SD cards with the fastest write speed, or is it better to buy one 4 GB SDHC class 6 card? If there was a problem with the 4 GB card after an event or vacation, I might lose all the data, but with 2 cards I would be spreading out the photos and video over two cards.

What are other forum members doing, and is there any advantage to using SDHC vs. SD (other than capacity)?

Thanks.

I tend to agree that it's probably a good idea to not have all of your eggs in one basket. Since the CG65 uses a very efficient codec you don't need to spend more on premium speed SD/SDHC cards. The primary reason to get an SDHC is for larger capacities but keep in mind that many existing card readerson PCs and printers don'tsupport SDHC (of coursethe CG65 can be used as anSDHCcard reader).

Here are the results of my unscientific battery test:

Sanyo: 1:13:59
Lenmar ($16.95USD from ritzcamera.com): 1:08:19
Powwer "950mAh" ($9.95USD from sterlingtek.com): 0:48:47
