[align=left]Called Sanyo and tech guy wasn't that helpful (or didn't know).

1. Has anybody tried the new Transcend 8GB Class 6 SDHC?
2. Would a DB-L40 (used for HD-1/HD-2) battery fit in this unit?

Pure beginner here. Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your first question, however I haven't heard of anyone having problems with SDHC cards in the Xacti series but have heard of sucessful use of 8GB SDHCs.

The DB-L40 is physically different from the DB-L20, it's about 14mm longer, so no it won't fit.

Caelum is correct on the battery. The DB-L40AU is physically longer and will not fit inside a CG65 or any other camera that accepts the L20 battery.

As for point #1. We obviously can't test every single card out there. But, any card that designates itself as SDHC "should" work without any problems. We have only found one SDHC card thus far that failed to perform. In testing, it was determined that the card had a fault and the manufacturer made a correction that brought it up to the correct SDHC requirments.

[align=left]Thanks for the replies. I just thought that it's best to ask first before I click on the "buy now" button on Transcend USA's website. $81.99 for an 8 GB (Class 6) SDHC is a good price (I think).

As far as the DB-L40 is concerned, some eBay sellers are marketing it for the cg-65. Again, thanks to your replies, I didn't bite.
