With all this gushing about the C6, I can't figure why the HD2 isn't a 10 times better deal.

Here are the specs. And please note that at $369, it's only $69 more than what the C6 is currently being sold for at Walmarts.

What am I missing here?

I have not seen any US sellers dropping the price as low as $369, where do you see this??

Prices of reputable sellers: Adorama $599; B&H $579

Price of an example of a known non-reputable seller: Broadway Photo $377

You should do a search on the reputation/ review of various sellers on this site:

www.resellerratings.com

Remember, any internet stores that sells at prices significantly lower than the average (I mean >10% less) should raise your suspicion. These stores usually push sale on overpriced "acessories" (some may call "junk"), charge expensive shipping, and may sell refurbished or gray market items without stating on the website.

Going back to your question:

I don't own both models, but some users reported that the low light performance of the HD2 may not be as good as the C6 series. Links to sample videos have been posted here before:

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=27

However, the HD2 is much more improved over its predecessor HD1.

I am not condemning anything - I am merely stating that "it is too good to be true" is correct most of the time. I urge all readers of this post to look up the review below and decide themselves.

This is the review of wisetronics according to resellerratings.com, a reputable review site recommended by many users and moderators here at Steve's and many other camera and non-camera related sites:
