I looked into Pinnacle Studio Plus 11 (or Ultimate version). I don't see a demo/trial version and I don't wish to spend $100+ dollars only to find out that it does not process HD1000 1080i files.

I do have good machine (Core 2 Duo + 2GB of memory) so I will have adequate HW.

Has anyone Already tried the Pinnacle Studio with HD1000 1080i files to assure that it works (basic video editing) even if it is slow ???

Yes, I have read the whole thread and I have seen some comments that mostly assures (Trek) that but would like to hear it clearly and also like to hear it from more folks.

That's probably becauseit doesn't focus (not to mention that you really can't scrutinize focus detail as well on low resolution as you can on high definition). Your phont is most likely using a fixed focus (oft called "focus free") lens. If you set the focus manually on the HD1000 to "infinity" and have/set a small aperture, you wil get similar results and no focus hunting at all.
missing my point, I wasn't really trying to compare HD1000 to a cellphone, but tried to point out that with a lens likein HD1000focusing has to be better.

any idea, what's up with the pixelated motion?

Pinnacle studio 11 does not work with HD1000 files at all!!!! it works fine with CG65 files. Think it has a problem with 60fps.

Thanks for the confirmation Trek.

It is sad to hear that Pinnacle Studio DOES NOT work with HD1000 files but I am glad I didn't waste $100+ to learn that.

I guess that leaves ONLY Sony Vegas Pro 8 as a viable solution. $400+ .

hmmm --- that is gonna hurt the pocket book bad --- I wish there was an alternative!

Hi there, I would like to seek for you people's help, here is the situation: Source = HD1000, 1080i video

Program = Sony Vegas Pro 8

Output = 1280x720p, 29.97fps, 10MBps, AAC audio

Which format should I use if I want the edited file to be played back in my the Sanyo HD1000 (because I don't have a PS3, just want to watch the edited file, through the HD1000, in Plasma TV via HDMI.

I tried both MainConcept MP4 and Sony AVC, both failed to be recognised by HD1000. I have re-named it to SANYxxxx.MP4 and copied to the SD card. Please help!

Cant be done! you cannot edit files and copy them back onto the card for the HD1000 to play. I tried the same thing but it simply cannot be done. You can just play the original file through the HD1000. It also does not work through the xacti library feature.

Hey guys. almost going to buy the Macbook pro.

Can someone confirm if the mac OS X leopard can handle HD1000 files (H.264 and Mp4)? New switcher to mac.. so newbie questions.

No problem playing or editing full HD 1080i HD1000 files with the new macbook or macbook pro with leopardright??

If no problem, what software you use for mac to edit HD1000 files?
