As promised, heres some sample pics of the cheap wide angle lens I bought off ebay. Each image is extracted from video.

and Image 3 is the wide angle by itself. I am delighted with it for the price, it may not be up to professional standard but I'm not a professional so it suits me. I'll post more when I test it a bit more....

Hello TheTurk! Imho a clear visible loss of quality... are you really happy with the results?

Is there no alternative wide angle lenskompatibe tothe HD1000on the market, that looks good und performs fine? the Sanyo originalwide angle lens is very heavy and too big! And the compact fish eye seems to be a fun accessory...

Thanks to all, it is really a great forum.

Audio quality again:

There are two noises, theywere not able to be ignored. You can hear it and an the internal microfon is also recording it. Put your ear to right side of the cam.

1. if autofosus is on you can hear the motor is permanently adjusting the lens. Although the distance is fixed (for example a wall). In "manual fosus" or "AF locked"the motor is quiet.

2. Altough the cam is in "manual focus" there is another noise sounds like a fan or electrical sparks. You can hear it very well.

Does it only happen on my cam? Especially the second one. There shouldn't be any noise!

Before I thoughtthe internal micronfon is bad, now I think the opposite.

I would be very glad if someone could answer. The video quality is so fascinating. On the other hand I don't want to take always an external microfon with me. Do I have a "monday cam" or not?

Merry Christmas andhappy new "snapshots".

ok, heres a quick video showing the wa lens. See what you think.... I am happy with it considering it only cost £17 inc shipping. I really did not want to spend a fortune on the official sanyo lens when I would only use it every now and again.

Anyone bought the VCP-HCX3 holster yet? Any opinions? I'm looking for the slimmest case possible, even looking for a custom neoprene case but so far no luck.
