You don't get it everywhere ingerman speaking countries. Easier you getinspecialised trades (offen small, about 800€) or you buy ist like I did inan internet shop. (about 640€)

One idea:

Artificial light, especially all kind fluorescentlamp have a"light-frequency" of the double frequency from the electrical net (2x50=100Hz in Europe 2x 60=120 Hz in Amerika).100 can't be devided by 30 or 60 (fps) und you got therefore a higher differential oscillation(beats). Perhaps this more difficult tofilter, than thenearly interference from120hz with 60fps(59.94).

I testet itin the room I am sitting now here in europe, fluorescentlamps (100 Hz).

without anti-flicker feature:

30 fps :bad movie quality, 60 fps:worst movie quality

with anti-flicker feature:

30 fps :visible flicker, 60 fps: visible flicker with about the double frequency

But I do not know how they do the anti-flicker in the cam. I think they make an exposureequalization over the certainperiod.

"Saturn and Mediamarkt" are big player in europa. The same company (owner: Metro, listet in DAX), they have nearly the same products, but not the same "outook". 30/60fps-cams are not so popular in europa 'cause we usePAL-System (50fields/s or half frames). Thanks to the HDMI support it isn't any real problem.

Hello to all,

I'm so close to getting an HD1000, however there is one thing I kind of noticed with many of the sample vids I have watched and that is the "blurr" or compression artifacts that tend to happen when individuals are walking in the picture or a lot of panning is happening. I believe in and HD picture, you should be able to pause the video at any point and see a nice picture, not blurry and fuzzy. However this may be due to auto options being selected.

So in an effort to know if the HD1000 can produce smooth videos where people that are walking at regular pace dont become blurry or jaggy (it honestly hurt my eyes,) I have uploaded a file that I think clearly show what I would like to achieve.

http://mihd.net/ulq10z

It's from the discovery channel. NowI know the IMax camera must cost a whole lot of money, so I'm not looking for equal quality. However notice in the video (which is only in 23fps) how movements are very vivid, no annoying blurrs. From where the guys are spinning the boat to the kids jumping in the water to the reseacher underwater with the kids, if you pause the video at any random point, you see a clear picture. You can easily follow their movement without having your head spinning at the end.Only minimal blur shows when the kids are jumping in the river which I understand is very fast.

This is my main concern because I'll be filming mostly my kids and cat with this camcorder; jumping every where scraching and biting things. Then there is thecat- another story.

So being able to capture movement in a non-blurry/fuzzy matter is very crucial to me. Please dont refer me to the more expensive camcorders as I've noticed similar results with canon HV10 and the likes.

Thanks and Happy NewYear

I have today registered for these two reasons:

1. To tell jared bluntly, that his style of spelling is an inconsiderate and incessant nuisance. Someone else has objected to it before, it is deplorable that jared did not care to pay heed.
Jared has not given his location, but I assume that anybody with a native language OTHER than English would have the good sense to write the above like this (if it had been more than one line, I would not even have bothered any more to waste time trying to decode it):
"Did you watch them all in this forum? Because my video is not like that at all!"

2. As a prospective buyer of a Xacti HD1000, I would like to express my appreciation to steves-digicams.com for it's existance and to all (except jared, of course)who have contributed to it. I have spent many hours plowing through it but I also found many gems and food for thought here. I thank you!

On the net you have to expect different levels of grammar; I have particular difficulty reading a regular poster here, but I have to take into account that some people do have dyslexia and other reading and writing issues. I do not believe they or anyone should be excluded from forums for this reason alone.
Also the English language (and any other language) is changing, the way I write would not be understood 100 or so years ago, in the modern world people often are looking for the quickest method which I'm afriad is now messaging language. I wouldn't take it personally and it's hard understand peoples feeling on the net as many of us are not shakespeare.

Ok, I own a Sanyo HD1000 and love it also. I have had two and neither one had any noises from the auto focus motor and certainly no noise on playback. The first camera the rec/play switch failed so Amazon sent me another one. May need to send it back or send out for repair to Sanyo repair center.

Skokie tv service company

141 south milwaukee ave.

Wheeling IL 60090

There phone#is 847-537-6666

I was going to send it there per sanyo rep I spoke with but decided to call Amazon and they said don't bother, they will send me another one. Cool huh?

Mine also did it during my shoots with the christmas tree ligts in the backround. The lights looked like they were flickering but indeed were not. Weird!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I lost my Christmas files because of Bill f**king Gates.

The Turk,

Very nice to hear your camera is okay. Nice job figuring out the problem! You have saved all of us a great deal of trouble on several issues.

I too have cussed Bill Gates. We have made him the richest man in the world, by buying one of the (in my opinion) poorest quality products on the planet.

I agree wholeheartedly - it's just that this is most probably completely irrelevant in the case of jared.
His writing habits may very well be appropriate for the Short Message Service, but this is a web forum, where the normal procedure is to use a keyboard and where there is not limit on letters. I am pretty sure that jared once learned to write words as I am writing them now, and as most persons do. I believe that he just does not care to write in a legible manner.
However, if it's not just that he want to appear "cool", but that he has real problems hitting the keys of whatever he writes on, then I would stand corrected and would have to apologize to him for bringing up this concern.

Peter, uncool, with some linguistic experience but none yet of the HD1000
