Here's a web link to what is said to be the first music video ever recorded entirely with Sanyo's new high definition XACTI HD-1000 camera. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8g6P5L7pD5E The YouTube video is not presented in high definition but shows some of the capabilities of the HD-1000, looks awesome.

I have watched it over and over. Looks very nice to me. For $799 it's on par with the HVX200 by Panny, for a heck of a lot less.

I like the ergonomics: reminds me of the old Super 8 cameras with the pistol grip. Much better for hand holding and getting steadier shots.

This video really shows off this new camera. I am placing an order for one tomorrow when it hits the market.

You seriously didn't just say the HD1000 was on par with an HVX200 did you? C'mon, give me a freakin' break, sorry but that's actually laughable. The HD1000 doesn't even come close to the quality of the HVX -- it's like night and day. Hell, just look at the codecs and you know it isn't even possible. I mean seriously, even HDV can't even come close, LOL!

The HVX can record to DVCProHD: DVCPRO HD, also known as DVCPRO100, uses four parallel codecs and a coded video bitrate of approximately 100 Mbit/s, depending on the format flavour. DVCPRO HD encodes using 4:2:2 color sampling.

C'mon people, these Sanyo videocams are awesome, and I love mine, but they can't even stand in the same room as an HVX200, let alone real pro gear...

A high resolution Sanyo HD-1000 music video can be seen at: http://www.sanyohd1000.com/ This is the same video that is on YouTube, but in high resolution.

Finally a good looking video I can watch without having my computer freeze up and not be able to play it. Nice
