Hi,

This year i've been taking movies with the HD1 and HD2 in Skydiving sport.
I made two movies fully captured by the HD2 in sport mode, sun, and without the stabilizator. All with the 0.6x wide angle lens.
The camera had to support, during 132 jumps, temperatures sometimes under -15°C and more than 250km/h windspeed and also some positive G and 0G.

Almost are captured in HD-SHQ, maybe 15/20% in TV-SHQ mode, stretched and cut in 16:9 mode (this meant no deformation).

You can see both at : http://pagesperso-orange.fr/wasky/

Tell me what do you think of them and the quality (encoded in On6 codec)

See you !

Fantastic videos, I am really thrilled! The quality is outstanding in these lighting conditions, I believe the ND filter has done good work. Have you manual focus?

Thanks a lot !

No i was in the mode 'people and infinity' focus, so not manual, but i will never use the full focus mode (macro+people+infinity) because the condensation will put the focus in macro...

The only problem i had was the stabilizator... why don't they use an optical one ! :?

Real nice footage. I use the CG65 for skydiving for it's real small size and the H.264 codec. I've adapted a 0.3X wide angle on it and that works good. As for the settings I've had a few things. I always set it in
-sports mode
-Manual focus
-ISO 100
-Sunlight

These settings have taken off the oversaturated light when getting out of plane like the CASA.

The CG65 is not 16/9 format like the HD2 but has a real small form factor, I'll try and adjust a wide angle to my ne HD700

Blue skies

Thanks Mike, It's been a long time we met !

If you've got the time to upload to us some pictures of your adapted wide angle on the CG-65 and HD700 it could be great, i also want to adapt a 0.3wide angle on my HD2, but i don't know how to built it.

Bye

Hi Erwan,
send me over a MP on were we met, don't see many frogs on this forum

As for photos on the CG65 I posted in this site in the following link
http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=27

I've got a few videos up on youtube but the quality is not great.

I use a liquid 0.3 wide with a 30mm thread. For you that thead might be to small, I've tried a few wide angle lens before finding the right on. On the HD1000 they are selling a 0.4 maybe with some luck you can fit it directly on yours.

I'm going to try and fit wy wide on the HD700, but it's going to take more time than the CG65, but it's going to be nice to have real wide HDvideo on my HDTV :?

A+ Mike
