Is the photo quality of the Panasonic TZ3K a lot better than theHD700? I know someone who just bought the TZ3K and I'm thinking that since Amazon has the HD700 currently for 350 dollars then he/she might be better off with the HD700 because you have the added bonus of HD recordings.

Never mind.

Apparently he/she doesn't like the style of the HD700.

Amazon must have had a lot of people ordering the HD700when it was only 300.

The HD700 is primarily meant as a camcorder which is why it has that styling. The styling of a camcorder over a camera is why many of us like it. If you are only interested in still images, then there are plenty of cameras which produce better quality images, not that the HD700 are particularly terrible!
