Sorry, a newbie here and a new HD1000 owner.

Anyone know a PC player that will play the 1080i footage without crashing ? I've tried:
VLC (0.8.6d)
Quicktime 7.3.1
Intervideo Win DVD
Nero 7 Showtime 3 (comes with the HD1000 !)

Ulead Movie Factory (comes with it) did play it, but any hint at editing (even trimming a clip) was so pitifuly slow I uninstalled the software (I mean SLOW, even on a FAST PC - 2x3.4G Xeon).

Anyone know of edit packages which support the 1080i footage to (excluding ULEAD) ?

Thanks in advance.....

Install k-lite code pack. Then any of those players should work, or Media Player Classic.

K-Lite seems to have done the trick for Windows Media Player (though none of the other playerswork still). In WM Player the edges are sort of jaggedy on movement, like I've seen when the A/B interlace frames are in the wrong order (and its 1080i footage). Was there a config for this in the REALMS of all those option screens !

Thanks for the pointer in the right direction.

It's a dual head NVidia 7800GT.

I bought the PC with awith a spec especially for editing video, and never quite got up the learning curve on Premiere Pro (1.5). To be honest I could go for something easier, but if PPro supports 1080i then I guess I'll have to dust off my license !

Thoughts on different video suites are welcome, as most would cost less than upgrading my PPro to the current 2.0 anyway.....
