Thanks for the update. Sounds like Sanyo was WELL aware the problem existed.

Does anyone know how to tell what firmware version is installed on the camera? It doesn't appear upon startup and I haven't been able to find an option in any of the menus.

I'm not sure, I think you can only check it, if you have a new Firmware File on your SD card.

I updated my firmware the other day. I had to put the new firmware file on the sd card. Not in a folder, just on the card.

Than you search "Format" and push the joystick at least 3 seconds to the left. If you do that without a firmware on your sd card, nothing will happen. If you have this file on your card a menu pops up, that shows you the current firmware and than you can say yes or no.

That is at least the only way, that I know to check the firmware version. Maby there is a different one too.
