great find. it looks like it is a step up to the Model HD700. a tad longer battery life. a internal memory and webcam feature.

same flash , smaller screen and simular features of the HD700

Between the two models 2.0 meg or interpolated 10 of the hd700 not sure if worth the difference if $100.00 more

It does not compete with the HD models, it's not HD,it does not have HD in it's model number, it'sstandard definition (DVD quality) and part of theC line, so itfalls in line withtheprevious C1, C4, C5, C6, CG6, CG65/CA65 models.

The CG9 is expected to be agressively priced so it should be very competitive (maybe the most affordable Xacti yet?),and will become the new entry level Xacti. It should be nice and small and perform well enough based on the specs (it has more features than previous C models, like a 60fps mode and burst mode). If you read the press release I linked to at the very top of my post, you will find all of the specs for it, and Sanyo calls it "The Xacti for beginners".

:roll:I had both the C6 and CG65 and they were great, the C1 was impressive at the time of it's release, not everyone needs HD resolution. Did you own any of the Xacti C models? ...Didn't think so.

note: updated the links at the top ofmy first post in the thread.
