Anyone else managed to fit a 40.5mm filter onto your HD1000 only to find out the HD1000's lens cap doesnt fit right on the filter (it fits, but gets knocked off pretty easily...)

I have the tiffen uv/haze filter. The lens cap does fall off pretty easy. For less than 10 dollars for the filter I make believe it is the lens cap. I am going to buy a spare. The lens cap on mine fell off pretty easy even without the filter on. I have the same issue with my Nikon D-200 when I use a circular polarizer filter.

Same problem here. My lens cap falls off pretty easy too. I was thinking about getting another string to connect to the lens cap and the other end attach to where the lanyard/wriststrap connects onto the camera body.

Having never used screw ons before, can't vouch for them. Would appreciate comments from anyone who has tried tho'.

Panasonic videocam lens cap is excellent for any attached filter.
