I took my Sanyo Xacti HD1000 to Florida on vacation as my only camera (I left my DSLR at home) and I was very pleased with the video and still photos it produced. Here a few photos from my trip.

Thanks Rev2010! The HD1000 really takes some nice photos for a camcorder. I used to have an Xacti C6 and that took awful photos, even though it had 6 megapixels. My HD1000 takes better photos than my Pentax Optio S6, which used to be my pocket sized "take anywhere" camera. With the HD1000, I didn't need the Pentax anymore so I sold it. My DSLR still takes nicer photos, of course, but for casual snapshots, vacation photos, etc. the HD1000 is more than capable enough.

I own an HD1010, just curious after I tried to shoot still images (4 MP in low compression) and print them to paper in 1:1 ratio. The images are not sharp.

I view them on computer in 100% and also found that.

Is it because of compression I chose? I notice if I use 3.5MP (16:9) size, sharpness improves a bit.
