I have the Media Library setup for my Sanyo HD1000. I also have a Kodak V1073 that I'd like to be able to transfer files to the Media Library. I've tried changing the .mov to .mp4 and putting them into a Sanyo folder but the file shows up as a large question mark (as does jpg files). Anyone know a way to fool my HD1000 into accepting these filesso they will play fromthe Media Library?

Try putting them back with the prefix SANYxxx.mp4. I have been able to copy original Sanyo videos that I have cut sections out of and just saved as a copy, back to the camera.

I have not though been able to play them if I did any other type of editing, like exposure compensation, sharpening, etc. So I would say, try the re-naming but I have a sense that it won't work the same as when I altered my Sanyo videos.

NOT POSSIBLE! There is no standardization accross all mp4, maybee mov but both these are not interchangable through changing the extension.

I am in the process of looking at the xbox 360 since it is possible to run linux on it and use a multimedia center such as elisa or xbmc to run on it. The xbox360 has dropped in prices to 199

My road map to achieve a light and portable multimedia center under linux is finally coming alive.

xbox360->linux-> elisa or XBMC

Since xbox360 supports high definition 1080p, I can have it hacked with a linux OS, running elisa or xbmc as a front end.

I currently run xbmc on my linux box and it is just fabulous. it plays 1080i videos awseomely and avidemux encoded files to XVID just as good (but not a passthrough method since it taxes my machine and xbmc is not optimized.)

I will post a tutorial on this when I have my xbox360 running linux and these media centers as time allowes. I work you know so I cant put the info out.

for 199, its a freakin steal! Best of all, SOFTWARE IS FREE BUT FEEL FREE TO DONATE SINCE THEY WORK ON DONATIONS.

look at my attachment for a pic demonstration!!!
