We have 12 HD-1000 cameras we are using do document utility pole damage cause by hurricane Ike. We set the cameras to TV-SHQ before they are sent to the field workers but several of the cameras have spontaneously changed settings and started recording at 1080.

The operators swear they are not changing the settings. Since it has happened to more than one of them I am inclined to believe that it is not something the operators are doing (at least intentionally).

They are using external battery packs and microphones attached to their hardhats.

I have tried every combination of button mashing and plugging and unplugging the battery pack to repeat this behavior but I can't get it to happen.

Has anyone aver seen anything like this?

Does anyone know how to check the firmware version? Maybe going to a new version would help. The steps on the website (place BIN in root and press "Set" for 2 seconds with "Format" hilighted) does nothing)

I am open to ANY ideas!!

Thanks....

They have to be hitting the "Full Auto" button. When I press that button all my settings default to Full HD. If the button is pressed again my resolution returns to where I set it. The full auto button is at the 12 oclock position on the control panel directly behind the hot shoe mount.

YES!!! I think you are right. I can totally see that happening especially as they are wearing gloves.

Thank you very much....

Your settings vary between usage depending what you are doing. You cannot use one feature without compensation to another feature So....Sanyo changes that feature you used before to compensate for the new setting you want to use. What I do is not fiddle with it too much.

Certain features will change if a certain setting is desired. I don't know what exactly but this is how the camera works. Your settings are saved. It is just that when you want a certain feature and sanyo cannot use both at the same time, it will adjust your old setting to compensate.

Your settings alsoget wiped out if youswitch from "Normal" to"Simple". It will wipe out your shortcuts as well.
