Can anyone confirm if this works on my Sanyo Xacti VPC-C5EX?

I had a Kingston 4GB SDHC, i bought it for my Panasonic H-250, but didn't work on the C5

(I've searched the SD cards compatibility topic, but couldn't find much about the C5)

That's because the older models of Xacti are generally not compatible with the SDHC standard. I have a Sanyo C40 which also does not accept SDHC. 2GB is the limit of the original SD memory card spec which is why it works in your device.

Unless the specifications or instructions specifically list SDHC, you can assume it will not be compatible unless they happen to have released a firmware update later on that lists this as one of the improvements. I believe this happened with the C6 for instance.

You mean that 4GB and 8GB SD cards won't work on my C5?

Nope, unless someone can confirm whether a firmware upgrade was available for the C5. Anyway 1 hour 18 mins of recording time isn't too bad. I doubt the battery would last that long anyway. I know my C40 doesn't even last an hour! It's not far from what you can expect from a MiniDV tape in LP mode. Using too large a card makes it too tempting to put all your eggs in one basket. Better to have several smaller cards than one large one ie if on vacation you lose, or corrupt one 2GB card out of your collection that's bad enough, but but if you have all your video on one large 8 or 16GB SDHC card then you lose it all!
