Hello - I've been using this camera for about 10 months and liked it a lot. About 2 months ago I turned it on and got no response what so ever . Here's what tried so far with no luck:

- Re-charged all 3 batteries and tried all three of them

- With the camera inthe docking station

- With the camera plugged in directly to the cord

- With the remote control

Please let me know if you have other ideas I can try. Thanks.

I called Sanyo and found out the camera only warranty for 90 days and 1 year for parts and I have to send it in to a third party who will charge me a minimum of $130 to fix it. I decided not to send it in. If I can't figure it out then I will buy another brand.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I know your probably not too happy with Sanyo but I just heard that Walmart carries the HD-100 for $199. It looks simular to the HD700 but can shoot in 1080P.

But the HD100, unlike the HD700, does not retain its color balance, and some of its other settings, in non-volatile RAM. They re-initialize every time the camera goes into standby. Nor does it have the High Sensitivity mode (1/15 shutter) which made the HD700 almost useful in darkened environments.

Hi Clam,

Did you try to replace SD card with another one?
I've got the similar situation because of "bad" 8GB SD card .
Once it was replaced everything went back to normal.

No I haven't but I will try adifferent SD card. I've been using a couple of A-Data 8GB SD cards for a while w/out any problem. One thing about this (my)camera is it gets very hot if you use it continuously for about 10min or more. I'm afraid I've fried it. Thanks for your suggestion.
