Do you know if Sanyo Xacti HD1000 still has the 4GB per file limit? and are SDHC 16GB or 32GB supported?

Thanks.

The limitation is not from xacti itself The limitation comes from the fat32 partition limitation that are used univeraly in the sd cards. If you formated this into ext3 or ntfs, there would be no issues but then again, xacti only uses fat32.

32gb works just fine with some brands.

It's basically trial and error. The first thread on this forum refers to SD card comparabilities.

For the record, I'm using a 16gb A-Data SDHC card perfectly fine. It will work also with the 32gb. As mentioned, certain brands might have some issues but so far the PNY and A-Data cards I've tried all work fine.

Where the 4 gig limit comes in is the camera stops the video at 3.9 gig then automatically restarts another video for a further 3.9 gig. I do it all the time with my hang gliding videos using my 8 gig card.

thanks rev, I been wondering what brand to buy my 32gb. I have an a-data 16gb which works fine. Doesn't hurt having a bigger one just for those special occasions.

Did you have to do anything special for that? Activate something in the menu or whatever?
Since this year I'm recording my flights in HD but when I get to the ground the camera is off and I have only 1 movie of 4GB/43min ...

I don't do anything special with my HD1010 I use an 8 gig card which gives me about 1.5 hours of video consisting of two separate videos all done automatically.

i think the hd1000 is the only one that stops. The hd1010 and the hd2000 is continuous.
