They are now showing in-stock at certain UK interent shops and interesting at £450.00 a street price significantly below £549.00, am expecting this to drop sub £400.00 ina week or two as others start to compete

Am still semi-interested in the hd2000 but I do wish i had the OIS, have to wait and see if the dis delivers, how many times have we said this though.

Personally if it cant deliver stable video am going with the panasonic sd-100 for many many reasons, but It wont be as portable as the HD2000

I picked up a small lightweight Modosteady for cheap and it works great with the very lightweight Xacti(well i tried it with the HD1000 - I havent yet received the HD2000 I just ordered) and so I wont miss the OIS even if the DIS is no good in the new model. Sure it would be great if it had it, but for me the Modosteady works fine. I recommend you find someone with one and try it out. :-)

Folks,

What do you think about this item:

http://www.jr.com/sanyo/pe/SAN_VPCHD2000BK/

and this:

http://www.jr.com/sanyo/pe/SAN_VPCTH1BL/

The price is $300 (!) less then Warehouse123 offers now. I can't believe.

^^^ That's from JR, believe it as they're VERy reputable! I used to work there.

The suggested retail from Sanyowas below $600 anyway so definitely do NOT buy it from somewhere selling it for $850, that's just nuts.

Do you think JR may make mistake or something?
The MSRP of the HD1010 was $799 on their site?
