Hi guys, I have a Xacti HD1010. My PC is a core2duo 2ghz with a 7900Geforce. I find that the playback is fine in 720mode but the computer can't keep up in 1080 mode.
As I was thinking of getting a PS3 soon, I was wondering if the PS3 can play the mpeg4 h.264 files. According to Sonys website it can, but is it as easy as putting the files on the ps3 and watching them without needing to convert them?
Does anyone know if the 1080 xacti files run perfectly on the ps3?

Thanks in advance. Will be great if the PS3 can handle it all perfectly

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...;forum_id=27to get your graphics card to run the hd stuff, look at this thread and use this software. also I recommend you grab your favorite codec pack to help decode the contained mp4 files. just ask if you get lost.

The only thing is I think it only works on Series 8 and higher Nvidia cards and he has a 7900 card. A core2 duo should play the HD videos though I would also check your codec's and maybe download the K-lite codec pack, Google it to find a download site.

Works nice without the need to convert them. BTW, you don' t have to put them on your PS3, you might stream with TVersity.

Yep, PS3 plays them perfectly fine and as mentioned already there is no need to convert, it plays them as is. There is no playback problems whatsoever, it plays the files at full 1920x1080 100% perfectly. Actually, I've been using my PS3 as my main source of viewing for all my vacation footage from my HD1000.

My PS3 didn't playback the HD2000 dog sample clip correctly. I think it was playing at 30fps where the video was shot at 60.

Well, he listed the HD1010 as his cam and that does playback 100% perfectly. I haven't tried the HD2000 clip yet. That sucks if it doesn't play it correctly. It handles 60p at 720perfectly fine though.
