Hello!

After much research I have finally decided to buy a Sanyo VPC HD 2000.

Problem is I am in north america. It wont be released here until June or July according to Sanyo Canada.

So that leaves ordering online overseas to get it quicker. So far my best bet online is DigitalRev.

For those that have made the purchase I have a few questions

Is this camera region free? or is it PAL, NTSC both? Do you need special cables to hook it up?

Do we have an American model number?

Any problems ordering from overseas?

Do you need to buy proper plug adapters? DigitalRev support said they ship the proper adapters, but dp not have any for NTSC AV output. huh? NTSC need proper output plugs?

Thank you!

try check out warehouse123 as well. i just ordered a CG10 from them. comes with free battery and 8GB card. I think its capable of both NTSC and PAL. you dont need special plugs.

Region codes only apply to commercial DVD's so you don't have to worry about your own videos!

I have just bought the HD2000 and you need not worry about Region codes. Under the TV Output option, you can set the TV System to NTSC or PAL and also the TV Type to 4:3 or 16:9 to suit your TV. The necessary connecting cables (S-AV and component) are supplied except for the HDMI cable. I have started a Blog at http://sanyovideocam.blogspot.comto post my experience there. I have connected the videocam to my old CRT TV and also to a new LCD HDTV and both worked perfectly. (But only one at a time.)
