Default FH1 Noob Questions

I have some basic questions, hope someone can help! I have just purchased the FH1 and think it is a superb camera (It is my first though). My two questions:-

1) I have a habit of leaving the lens cap - is there any setting that can tell you the lens cap is still on

2) Is there anyway to pause while recording apart from stopping restarting your filming then joining the video - I want to reduce the amount of files this creates

If you have a black screen it's a pretty good indication that the lens cap is still on

hehe that's the least of my worries! My stupid habit is that of accidentally pressing the record button when I am not filming (so the camera is then already in record mode), only to press record to START filming the actual subject and finding out later that I did not actually record anything at all! Sometimes when I am in the moment, so to speak, I forget to actually pay attention to the LCD to see if it says it is actually recording LOL
