Default -sanyo xacti ca9--Questions Help?

Hi, Well I am looking to buy a nice camcorder for snowboarding season, as well as every day use: vacations etc.

This one has alot of good reviews and is water proof and nice looking!

sanyo xacti ca9

It's only about $300.00 usd and was wondering what you guys think about it...

My main question for all of you are:

You see on this camcorder how that lcd screen comes out to the side so you can get a bigger picture of what you are shooting... Well can I keep that lcd screen shut and still record videos?? Cause if i fall while boarding with that screen out it could break, and i would rather it be shut

just rotate the screen 180 degrees and shut it with the screen facing outwards it will still keep recording
