Default Xacti HD2000 red line bug (ligne rouge)

Hi,

I've got a bug on my HD2000, a red line sometimes appears on the right side of the video (on both control screen and on the movie)
This has already been reported :

http://www.vimeo.com/groups/sanyo/forumthread:9325

I've added a sample video of that bug to this post.

Some says that a firmware update should fix this... I fully think so but Sanyo support team answers me that there are no 'public' firmware updates.

Does anyone else experience that problem / bug?

BTW, does anyone know how to find the firmware release of a HD2000?

Thanks

Default Returned my sanyo

Hi, I had a hd2000 about a week ago and noticed the red-line issue too, but it seemed to only be on 1080p60. Unfortunately I hadnt upgraded my laptop to windows 7 at that stage, so I cant report if it was an issue with vista and windows 7, but was definately visible on vista.

I was not that impressed with the sanyo overall so returned it anyway and the red line just made me think the effort wasnt worth it considering its other limitations, ie imge stab, flicker in indoor ligting was the worse ever in UK domestic situation and made the camera unusabe indoor on an evening, maybe this was a fault too?

If I was you I would consider returning it asap.

A user on Vimeo, Zatro Vetrov had posted the updated firmware he received from Sanyo. It's here:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ENDQTGOU

After putting in the code and clicking download file it will make you wait something like 60 seconds before the download starts. This firmware supposedly completely resolves the issue. I don't have the HD2000 but was reading about this and came along it so figured I'd share it here.

Default Bad service

Rev2010 thank you very much for the information.

I've sent back my Xacti to Sanyo for repair.
It did just came back, they've changed the lens and made some cleaning...
I'm afraid this would not fix anything...

The 'red line' was only on few videos, thus it should not be a lens problem.

I would like to test the firmware provided by Zatro but I do not know how to flash a firmware... and how to find which firmware my Xacti has...
Flashing a firmware can also just 'brick' my Xacti...

The firmware version can be found in the EXIF info of picure taken by the Xacti.
The bad point is that I already have firmware version 1.1.0...

So you still have the red line issue even though your cam is already loaded with the new firmware? Could it be that Sanyo updated the firmware when you recently sent it to them? I'm interested in this because I had been considering upgrading from my HD1000, which I still totally love and continues to serve me well. I was thinking about upgrading due to the much better low light abilities being my band will be playing out again soon.

Default A new firmware...

It seems that there is a new firmware for the Xacti HD2000

http://vimeo.com/groups/sanyo/forumthread:9325

Thanks to Sergei for sharing it !

I've asked SANYO support if I can flash that firmware in my HD2000 but I'm not really expecting any help from them... that time I've tried UK site... France support told me no new firmware was available and that I should ship my camera to Germany

What's the use of a 3 years warranty if the support is that poor ?

Rev2010, I'll told you if it is changing anything...
