Default Sanyo VPC-WH1 - Only 2MB Photos??

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing the Sanyo VPC-WH1, but the only thing I don't get is how this camcorder has only 2MB photos when it has a 30x zoom, and the VPC-CA9 takes 9MB photos.

For people who own the VPC-WH1; how do the 2MB photos come out?? Does the resolution look fine at 2MB photos??

Thank you,

olimits7

MP mega pixels don't translate straight to mega bytes. There are other factors such as normal/fine/superfine. If you shoot raw format the files are much larger. Hopefully someone with a better answer will post.

I think he really meant 2MP and as you say is confusing MP with MB.

I remember considering the regular non waterproof TH1 at one point due to its impressive zoom but quickly discarded it when I saw the sensor was only 1.1MP and the 2MP were interpolated. I wouldn't have minded if that would've meant impressive low light ability but from what I read, I soon realized it didn't.

I think that both TH1 and WH1 is camcorder, but not hybrid.
CG and HD series is hybrid .
