Default Help: Old Sanyo VPC-FH1 better than the new Sanyo VPC-SH1?

Sanyo VPC-FH1 (old model)
- 1920x1080p60 at 24Mbit/s
- 5.3MP (effective pixel count)
- 8MP photos

Sanyo VPC-SH1 (new model)
- 1920x1080i60 at 16Mbit/s
- 4.3MP (effective pixel count)
- 10MP photos

Why make the new model "worse"?

The old model is better, right?

Yes, I just returned VPC-SH1, movies taken by this camcorder were worse than cheap, "unbranded" DXG-A80.

I don't "read" the SH1 as the upgraded model of the FH1 - just smaller. It's even a few bucks cheaper. Appears to have a smaller lens and sensor too.

Is the lens aperture of SH1 is F3.5 ???
it is same level as CG series.

F1.8 is the choice only.

Maybe new line is worse than old because they can't be competing with Panasonic.

VPC-SH1 does not seem like a new model of the VPC-FH1

Does anyone know when an updated VPC-FH1 will be released or is it EOL now dat Sanyo is part of Panasonic?

Looks like it's the EOL for the FH1 (and the similar HD2000). The 1080p has been used in the new Panasonic 700 series and new Sanyo camcorders seem to be targeted for a differenct market. I suppose they do not want Sanyo to compete with Panasonic now that they are one.
