The first units have begun to trickle out of the warehouse. Supply is expected to be very tight.

So where is the review? We, the most informed people in world, still don't know anything about it's low-light performance :-)

Just wondering where you got your inside info on Amazon. I preordered my HD1 a few weeks ago, but haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet. I had heard that the Hd1's hit Amazon's warehouses early last week, so I was hoping to get it sometime this week. I'm still within my Amazon Prime free trial, so there is still an outside chance that if it ships today, I could be playing with my new toy this weekend.

The wait is killing me...

My info... direct from Amazon corporate headquarters.

They are using three different distribution centers for this product. One of them received inventory and shipped all of what they received out. The other two should hopefully receive and ship today or tomorrow. I would expectyou to see a shipping notice very soon. They are receiving enough to cover every order they received up to last night and they still have a few extra to sell. They jokingly stated that it will go live on the Amazon site "for like 2 minutes" alluding to the fact that if it continues to be in their top five camcorder sellers, they will run out very quickly.

Amazon tell me that I am number 30 on a list of over 250 pre-orders, but deny knowledge of any inventory, claiming that none have yet been shipped. Getting impatient!

[psphoto] I'm guessing that your Amazon order has shipped.

Amazon is now live with stock on hand of the SANYO Xacti HD1. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8

Sanyo -- Thanks for your help. Your information allowed me to jog Amazon's memory, my order having been placed in early January.

If you are connected with Sanyo, I hope that there will be a channel to continue this helpful communication. As you must know, there is tremendous interest in this product. There have been literally hundreds of messages on other web sites concerning it.

It reminds me of the "good old days" when I was a photographer at LIFE magazine and everyone was debating whether 35mm was "good enough"!

Sanyo has taken a commendable bold step here that should have a great impact in the future.

Thanks again for your interest.
