hi underdog, i'm very interested in buying the HD1 but my main concern is about converting the mp4 files into .avi that way i could put them into Windows movie maker for editing

as for now, with my current Digital camcorder (Sony DSC-M1) i use to convert the MP4 files into AVI with the best application ever (MP4CAM2AVI) very fastly and without ANY loss of quality

UNFORTUNATELY, MP4CAM2AVI doesn' work with mpeg4 from the Sanyo HD1, so i will have to do otherwise...

what about Unlead Photo Expplorer ?

did u use it ? if you convert say a MP4 of 50 m.o. , what will be (more or less) the size of the .avi that you will obtain.

With MP4CAM2AVI , the size of the .avi was comparable of the size of the original file which is super great !!

and is there a loss in quality when you convert with Unlead Poto explorer. was the conversion fast or slow for each mp4 file ?

and last question : do u use windows movie maker ?

thank you for your answer, and i'm happy for you that you are among the few in the world to possess this great camcorder

kony

Hi Kony-

I am loving the camera more and more as i get to know it.

yes i have used ulead photo-explorer and i converted an hd mp4 file into avi and they were close in output file size. i also converted an hd mp4 to mpg and it was much smaller output file size. it was pretty fast too. i dont use winodws MM but i am sure you can once you convert to avi.

hope this helps!

This may be assumed, but make sure and copy it off of the memory card on to the hard drive before trying to play it.
