Anyone has a clue weather it is possible to start video recording with a remote control?

It seems like nonsense that you can fully navigate the menus change every setting of the camera but you can not turn video recording ...

p.s. camera is C6

It is not possible to start recording (on a SANYO Xacti C6) via the remote control.

However, this functionis possible on the SANYO Xacti HD1.

The difference is that the C6 IR receiver is located on the dockingcradle where the most likely use is charging, data transfer over USB or direct playback to a TV. The remote was meant to assist in direct playback to TV so that the camera/dockingcradlecould be located near the TV, to allow for cabling, while the user sits in a more comfortable location to view the TV. The remote works at a distance of up to 21 feet.

The HD1's IR receive is located on the front of the camera and thus can be used for the added benefit of activating still capture or video recording.

Hope this helps.

Yes it does work.

But, please remember, the C6's IR receiver is in the docking cradle. Therefore, the camera must be in the docking cradle to use the HD1 remote to activate recording or still image capture.
