I have my HD1 for a week now and still learning. I have taken well over a 100 pictures and about 25 videos of various lengths and replayed them countless times.

My question, since charging it once and having it in the cradle the first couple of days and then, on purpose, not again, the battery symbol still shows full.

When I now put the camera back in the cradle the charging light does not come on.

Is this battery that good or do I have a problem?

The battery symbol (viewable in menu mode) showing full does not surprise me. SANYO is a globalleader in Lithium-ION batteries and I am personally always surprised and impressed with their output.

Generally, the battery light (RED LEDjust above the monitor when closed)will come on when the camera is placed back in the cradle.

Alternatively, to double check/test, you can go directly from the AC Adapter to the camera using the cable adapter and see if the light goes on that way.

However, from what you described, it doesn't sound like there is a problem.

Good to hear,

but should the charging light not come on even after only moderate use?

Mine comes on after even moderate use. It goes off again within a minute, but it does come on briefly.

How many times have you seen the red light come on when you cradle?
