:? [Prior to posting , I did a search but could not find what I needed........]

1.Any EXCELLENT mp4 players for the Sanyo HD-1?

QT appears jerky and I tried a whole bunch that will not play.

2. I know there are different mp4 codecs. What is the exact codec
for the Sanyo HD-1?

3. I tried a few DVD players that had a SD card slot. None worked.
Any DVD players [make and model please!] out there that can read Sanyo HD-1 mp4 files directly
(raw mp4 from sd card or transferred to a DVD disk) ?

4.MP4Cam2AVI Easy Converteris not READY for the Sanyo HD-1 [5-8-06]
Any quess when?

Thanks u all...................jbat2

Yes, QT is jerky. I'm not too impressed with QT for anything but H.264. VLC should work okay (http://www.videolan.org). mplayer also works well on Linux. There are several Directshow filters that work okay with a Directshow player like MS Media Player or Media Player Classic (MPC).

I think it's a proprietary chip--some have claimed Sony made the chip. It's an H.263 (mpeg4 variant) codec. The fourcc code is "XVID." XVID is an open source H.263 soft codec. The XVID Directshow filter does seem to work okay for decoding HD1 video.

Neither QT or VLC jerks when it plays back HD1 footage on my computer.

However, a lot of computers, like G4 laptops etc., cannot handle the HD1 footage.

MacBook Pros have no problem.

NERO SHOWTIME
It's the only MP4 player that I've tested and tried that works and plays full 100% zoom, or full screen on my monitor that won't skip or croak on HD1 samples I've downloaded.
Part of the NERO 6 or 7 CD burning package at www.nero.com
